DESCRIPTION

The Asgard DMP Dual Mag Pro is a purpose-built, professional tool designed by a fire-alarm technician, for fire-alarm technicians.

This tool was custom designed, prototyped, and manufactured in North Carolina, USA, with real-world inspection and testing workflows in mind. The DMP Dual Mag Pro is intended for functional testing of commercial smoke detectors and duct smoke detectors that utilize internal magnetic switches, recessed test buttons, or System Sensor–style keyed test switches as part of routine inspection, testing, and maintenance activities.

The Asgard DMP Dual Mag Pro is a patent-pending design, developed to address real-world testing challenges encountered in the field.

HOW IT WORKS

The Asgard DMP Dual Mag Pro threads onto standard extension poles commonly available in any hardware store, allowing technicians to safely and efficiently perform functional detector testing from the ground without unnecessary ladder or lift use when conditions allow.

In the upright orientation, the DMP Dual Mag Pro uses precisely positioned dual magnets to activate internal magnetic test switches found in many commercial smoke detectors. The dual-magnet layout is intentionally designed to contact both magnetic activation areas, eliminating the possibility of being on the wrong side of the detector during testing and ensuring consistent, reliable activation.

In the inverted orientation, the tool provides two additional remote testing capabilities:

• A dedicated poker pocket designed to accept standard 12-gauge solid conductor wire for actuating recessed push-button test switches, such as those found on System Sensor 2WB and similar detectors• An integrated System Sensor–style key switch pocket, designed to retain and actuate manufacturer-style keyed test switches, allowing duct detector testing to be performed remotely

This allows the DMP Dual Mag Pro to be used for:

• Magnetic activation of smoke detectors with internal magnetic switches• Local testing of duct smoke detectors at the device

  • Remote testing of duct smoke detectors using System Sensor–style keyed test switches or recessed push-button test points

The DMP Dual Mag Pro works across multiple detector styles and manufacturers, eliminating the need to carry multiple single-purpose testing tools.
